Hampton Roads

I started my real estate career in 2000 with Homes for Veterans Realty. We specialized in helping Veterans in Hampton Roads utilize their VA loan benefits to buy a home – many were first-time homebuyers! The market then had a large selection of VA and HUD homes available, thus the inspiration for my company’s trade name All VA Homes.

The real estate market has gone through some wild changes through the years. My focus has always been to put my client’s needs first, even with the hot sales market through 2007. However, mortgage practices brought the recession of 2008 and a significant number of home foreclosures. Adapting and working with homeowners facing this problem, not all were critical cases. Many of these situations were from a sense of paralysis trying to handle this particular problem on top of a list of others (loss of job, health, etc…) or a non-belief that they were actually going to lose their home.

I adopted an approach of doing my best to accomplish a win-win situation for people who were facing the loss of their homes – some walking away with with a means to start over. You do have options – if you act in time!

Today, after 25 years living in the Hampton Roads area, my family moved to the “Sportsman’s Paradise” of Currituck County, North Carolina. We enjoy our home on a canal leading to Coinjock Bay. We’ve been taken in by the country atmosphere and slower pace of life. I am conveniently located between Hampton Roads and the Outer Banks areas which enables me to easily assist my clients in Hampton Roads and NE North Carolina!

People are tiring of traffic, taxes and the fast pace of city life and finding the proximity to the North Carolina line appealing. Currituck County is a fast-growing area with new home communities springing up everywhere to accommodate the demands for housing. The coming Mid-Currituck Bridge will also change the dynamics of opportunities for continued growth, as well.
